Backus Design Works is a limited liability company currently operating in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  My name  is John Backus, sole proprietor.  During the 70's, 80's and 90's I made a line of stuffed animals and soft sculpture crafts sold under the name, MY KIDS.   These items were predominately sold at the Boulder Arts and Crafts Gallery, in Boulder, Colorado.  Sample photos of these items can be viewed in the MY KIDS gallery. 

 

I also taught two semesters of jounted teddy bear construction at the Jefferson County Continuing Education Program.

 

I took a brief 30 year hiatus for a career in hospital construction.  I am now retired and still have a significant amount of material from previous projects.  I an currently doing limited projects, but may be able to match the material on items sold as MY KIDS that are in need of repair.  Please contact me for details.
